I know that I started a blog on the first day of racing at the Skandia Sail for Gold event, and then went absent throughout the rest of the event. The weather turned pretty bad, and on the second day of racing there was a good amount of breeze and 3 races scheduled. I felt terrible in the boat, no speed and posted some disappointing results.
I managed to not make gold fleet again, by 1 point and was leading the silver fleet. The next couple days, the weather got really bad, and there were gusts in the 50′s. Racing was cancelled. With an obligation to get gold fleets racing in, silver fleet was not as important, and we didn’t see anymore racing for the rest of the event – I did win Silver Fleet !
This was a windy event, and I definitely realized where my weaknesses are. I am continuing on making adjustments and I have some really good training lined up these next few weeks. I couldn’t be with a better training group currently, and taking away as much as I can from these boys. Awesome they let us join in for a week!
