Dear Friends and Supporters,

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited by world class Brazilian Laser sailor Bruno Fontes to come and train in his backyard. So last Saturday I left Miami for Florianopolis, Brazil where I am now training with a small group for about 10 days in preparation for the Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC).
A huge THANK YOU to Paul Hoffman and Jimmy Gallivan who, respectively, paid for this last minute training camp and donated the miles to get me to Brazil.

Like many other sailors, I usually move from Newport, Rhode Island to Miami in the winter months. I had to relocate early this year and none of the other Laser sailors on the circuit had arrived yet, so this camp is an awesome opportunity for me to train with some of the best.

While in Miami, I met with the fitness trainer who wrote my program last year. We rigged a Laser on land and I showed him how Laser sailors hike. Then we all went out on the water, Hector (trainer) in a coach boat, me on the Laser so that he could watch Laser sailing in action. Since then I have a new fitness program that will help me further in targeting specific muscle groups. We often have to hike for long periods of time, sometimes over an hour, and legs and back fitness is crucial.

I fly back to Miami on the 19th and right back out on the 20th to Veracruz, Mexico for the CAC Games. Racing starts on the 24th of November and I will send links to the event when we get closer.

Thank you all for your support.
